Eastbound LIE in Melville reopens after fuel spill, officials say

The eastbound Long Island Expressway at Route 110 was closed for several hours Tuesday afternoon, reopening in time for the evening commute, officials said.
A fuel spill from a disabled tractor trailer had forced the closure of the eastbound lanes in Melville for more than three hours, officials said.
Suffolk County police said the incident occurred at 12:06 p.m.
The state Department of Transportation’s website, informny.com, said the lanes reopened shortly before 3:30 p.m.
