A motorcyclist who was critically injured earlier this month in Rockville Centre after colliding with a box truck has died, the Nassau County Police Department said late Tuesday.
The motorcyclist, identified by police Tuesday evening as Kwabena Awuku, 37, of Queens, was hospitalized in critical condition after the Oct. 3 crash, according to a news release earlier this month. Awuku was pronounced dead of his injuries, the police said in an updated release Tuesday that did not say where or when he died.
About 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 3, Awuku was riding a 2003 Honda motorcycle north on Lincoln Avenue in Rockville Centre when he collided with a southbound 2021 Ram box truck as it turned left onto South Forest Avenue, the Nassau police said at the time.
The truck driver remained at the scene, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
