LIRR: Signal problems cause delays
Signal problems are causing delays on the Long Island Rail Road, the LIRR said Tuesday evening.
There are delays averaging 10 to 15 minutes in both directions east of Jamaica on the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Oyster Bay branches due to signal trouble near Queens Village.
Earlier, the railroad reported longer delays due to trains operating at a reduced speed because of the signal problems and broken crossing gates at an unspecified location.
