Service was fully restored on the LIRR Wednesday afternoon after a pole that fell on the tracks forced passengers to take buses between Valley Stream and West Hempstead, the railroad said.
The PSEG Long Island pole that fell along the Westwood tracks was replaced and railroad service was on or close to normal, with some residual delays during the evening commute, the railroad said.
The LIRR said Tuesday “evening’s inclement weather” caused the pole to fall.
