LIRR: Babylon Branch back on schedule after fix to broken rail near Merrick
The Babylon Branch of the Long Island Rail Road was back on schedule after a broken rail near Merrick was fixed, the railroad said shortly after 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Trips in both directions had been delayed by about 10 to 15 minutes during the morning rush hour. One train was canceled.
The 10:36 a.m. train from Babylon to Penn was the first train to operate with its regular stopping pattern after repairs concluded, the LIRR said in a service advisory. No additional delays were expected.
