All Long Island Rail Road trains were running on or close to schedule early Wednesday afternoon after a second straight day of morning rush-hour delays and cancellations across multiple branches, most of them related to ongoing cleanup following the weekend’s snowstorm.

On the Hempstead branch, westbound trains are skipping Elmont-UBS Arena, Queens Village and Hollis stations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday because of work related to accessibility improvements, the LIRR notes.

MTA buses are accepting LIRR tickets for travel from Queens Village and Hollis to Jamaica. The LIRR is recommending that Elmont-UBS Arena riders use Bellerose station instead.

Some of the earlier problems on the commuter railroad were weather-related, but in an incident unrelated to the weather, there were westbound delays averaging up to 20 minutes along the Babylon and Port Jefferson branches due to earlier fire department activity at Jamaica, the LIRR reported. Details of that incident were not immediately available.

The Montauk Branch reported earlier weather-related issues, but by 10:30 a.m. was reporting service on or close to schedule.
