Long Island Rail Road service resumed between Atlantic Terminal and Jamaica after it was suspended in both directions early Monday.

The suspension was "due to fire department activity" at the terminal, according to the MTA website.

Earlier, multiple branches were experiencing delays or rerouted schedules due to switch trouble and police activity after a person was struck and killed by a train at the Woodside station.

Those branches were mostly back on schedule before 10 a.m.

An MTA spokesperson told Newsday that at about 5 a.m., a train from Huntington to Penn Station struck a person "who was not authorized to be on the tracks" at Woodside.

The person, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, the MTA said.
