LIRR reports all trains on or close to schedule after damaged third rail fixed

The LIRR is operating on or close to schedule systemwide after earlier delays and cancellations due to a damaged third rail west of Jamaica, the railroad said.
The railroad made the latest announcement before 10 a.m. .
Travelers headed west — except for the Port Washington Branch — had been experiencing delays even after the earlier problem with the third rail had been repaired, the railroad had said at about 8:10 a.m.
Earlier, the railroad had said one train from Huntington/Port Jefferson was canceled, while three trains were canceled from the Ronkonkoma branch, as well as from the Babylon Branch.
