A series of unrelated incidents that caused delays for Long Island Rail Road riders Monday have been resolved, with trains now operating normally on the three branches affected, railroad officials said.

The latest incident involved "an overheight vehicle" strike to a railroad bridge overpass on Cherry Valley Avenue in Garden City.

Officials said at around 11:30 a.m. that crews had inspected the bridge and determined there was no structural damage, lifting speed restrictions that earlier caused 5-10 minute delays on the Hempstead Branch.

Trains are now operating normally through the area, officials said.

The incident was one of three that delayed trains Monday.

Earlier, a switch problem near Farmingdale caused 10-15 minute delays on the Ronkonkoma Branch, while a technical problem knocked out grade crossing gates that caused 5-10 delays on the Long Beach Branch due to speed restrictions.

Both of those incidents have been repaired, the LIRR said, with all trains now operating on or close to schedule.
