The Long Island Rail Road resumed normal service Wednesday after experiencing delays and cancellations on its Babylon Branch due to a broken rail near Seaford.
Two westbound trains were canceled and delays averaging 15 to 25 minutes were reported on at least three trains heading to New York, the railroad said on its website.
The 7:57 a.m. train from Wantagh to Grand Central was canceled, as was the 8:06 a.m. train from Babylon to Penn Station. Riders were directed to later trains.
The broken rail was repaired midmorning, the LIRR reported.
