LIRR ‘on or close to schedule’ after East River tunnel fire
The Long Island Rail Road is “operating on or close to schedule” with “scattered delays” following Tuesday evening’s problem in an East River tunnel, the railroad said.
The fire department activity was resolved in less than a quarter of an hour, an LIRR spokesman said by telephone.
“Everything’s back to normal except for some residual delays,” he said.
