A person was struck on the Long Island Rail Road tracks east of the Bethpage station, the LIRR said Thursday evening.

"Customers can anticipate delays on the Ronkonkoma Branch in both directions after a person was struck by a non-passenger train east of Bethpage," the LIRR said in a tweet. "We will update you shortly."

The man hit by the train, Kevin Phuc Pham, 22, of Farmingdale, died of his injuries later Thursday, the MTA said Friday.

The train that struck Pham was traveling west and no passengers were on board, according to the LIRR. Bethpage EMS responded to the scene.
