Service on the Long Island Rail Road’s Port Washington Branch service has been restored after a brief suspension due to police activity, LIRR officials said on its website.

But delays averaging 40 minutes remain on that line, the railroad said.

The NYPD had been chasing a suspect in the Douglaston area and asked the power to be turned off on the line, a spokesman said. Power was off for about 45 minutes, but now there are residual delays.
