Saturday marked the first day of service changes in August on two Long Island Rail Road branches because of work on positive train control and the Double Track project. Buses are replacing trains between Ronkonkoma and Hicksville Saturday and Sunday while work on the project is underway, the LIRR said. These service changes will be in place for every weekend in August.
