The Long Island Rail Road repaired severed signal lines near Jamaica station just in time to restore five canceled eastbound trains for Monday's evening rush hour, the service said Monday.
At about 4 p.m., the service issued an alert that repairs had been made and a normal evening commute was expected.
Earlier in the afternoon, the LIRR said that the severed signal lines west of Jamaica station could cause scattered delays and cancelations of the five trains.
"We're back on schedule," LIRR spokesman Sam Zambuto said. "We have no anticipated delays, and the previous cancellations have been restored."
Zambuto said the signal lines were accidentally severed around noon Monday, as crews worked near Jamaica station.
