LIRR: On or close after delays during a.m. rush

The Long Island Rail Road said Monday morning that service into Penn Station was back to normal after earlier scattered delays averaging 10 to 15 minutes.
The railroad said in a news alert at 7:40 a.m. that the delays were due to Amtrak switch trouble outside of the East River tunnels.
The railroad said in an update about 8 a.m. that service was on or close to schedule.
