The Long Island Rail Road said Monday morning that service into Penn Station was back to normal after earlier scattered delays averaging 10 to 15 minutes.

The railroad said in a news alert at 7:40 a.m. that the delays were due to Amtrak switch trouble outside of the East River tunnels.

The railroad said in an update about 8 a.m. that service was on or close to schedule.
