Four of 11 bus routes in Nassau County that were eliminated in budget cuts earlier this year will be restored Sunday, Nassau Inter-County Express said.

The routes are the two — N80 and N81 — running between Hicksville and the Westfield Sunrise shopping mall in Massapequa, and the two serving the Rockville Centre area, the bus company said.

The Rockville Centre routes — the old N14 and N17 — will be restored and rebranded as shuttles: one running in a loop along Lakeview Avenue, Maple Avenue, Brower Avenue and North Long Beach Road; the second linking the Rockville Centre train station to the Hempstead bus depot, with a stop at Mercy Medical Center, the bus company said.

The cuts were made because of a $7.5 million deficit in the company’s budget, but Nassau County provided $3 million to restore most, but not all, of the cuts. Further service restorations are expected in September.

Bus timetables are available on the company’s website at nicebus.com/Passenger-Information/Schedule-Changes.aspx.
