For the next three weeks a section of the eastbound Northern State Parkway in Nassau County will be closed overnight for repaving.
In an announcement issued this week, the state Department of Transportation said the Northern State will be closed between Exit 33, the Wantagh State Parkway in Westbury, and Exit 35, Route 106-107 in Jericho. Work began Thursday night.
Motorists will be diverted onto Post Avenue in Westbury to access eastbound Jericho Turnpike and then the Long Island Expressway South Service Road before being diverted onto southbound South Oyster Bay Road for access back to the Northern State.
The closures will take place between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting, to allow workers to repave asphalt.
