A road construction project beginning Monday will cause overnight closures on the westbound Northern State Parkway in Nassau County for about a three-week span, the New York State Department of Transportation announced this week.

The roadwork will take place between Exit 37A, the exit for the Long Island Expressway, and Exit 33, the exit for the Wantagh State Parkway, officials said.

The project involves asphalt pavement resurfacing, the NYSDOT said, and will take place overnights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

During the project closures, the NYSDOT said, traffic will be diverted onto the westbound LIE for about 4 miles to expressway Exit 40W, where motorists can access westbound Route 25 to southbound Post Avenue in Westbury in order to again access the westbound Northern State.
