William Floyd Parkway weekend closures end early

A section of the William Floyd Parkway reopened earlier than scheduled on Saturday, after being closed due to work on the Long Island Rail Road crossing in Shirley, Suffolk County police said.

The parkway reopened between Montauk Highway and Northern Boulevard late Saturday evening. It had originally been scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday, police said.
