Port Jefferson branch service restored after train hits person, LIRR says
Service on the Long Island Rail Road's Port Jefferson Branch has been restored, after it was briefly suspended between Port Jefferson and Huntington because a train hit a person west of Stony Brook, the railroad said Tuesday morning.
Police, emergency medical services personnel and LIRR workers had been en route, the railroad tweeted at 5:36 a.m.
No further information was available.
