The NYPD harbor unit will continue to search waterways for the construction worker who fell from the Throgs Neck Bridge.

The worker, identified by news reports as John Massas, 35, of the Bronx, fell from the bridge just after 8 a.m. Friday as he adjusted or changed a safety harness. He is presumed dead, as no one is expected to survive in the water for more than eight hours, according to the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard suspended its search after 13 hours on Friday. The NYPD harbor units have continued during the weekend to sweep the area to look for the missing worker, an NYPD official said.

Massas, who was married with three children, worked for the Islandia-based Nuco Painting Corp., a subcontractor hired by El Sol Contracting & Construction of Maspeth, Queens.

An NYPD spokesman declined to confirm Massas' identity and said the search is ongoing.
