Service was restored on the Ronkonkoma Branch of the Long Island Rail Road after it was suspended Tuesday due to a fatal train strike of someone on the tracks east of the Brentwood station at about 6:40 a.m., the railroad said.
The restoration of service was announced at about 8 a.m., after a suspension of one hour and 20 minutes.
However, the railroad advised customers of residual delays of up to 90 minutes as a result of the incident.
According to the MTA, emergency medical services and MTA Police responded to the incident scene, but said the incident was determined to be noncriminal.
