One lane of the Southern Parkway in Plainview will be shifted daily for the next week to allow for bridge repair work, officials said.

The shift will be in place beginning Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily near the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway, the State Department of Transportation said.

There will also be periodic lane shifts on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway for months as the work continues, DOT said.

Beginning June 8, one lane of the expressway will be closed as needed in either the northbound or southbound direction from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., DOT said.

Beginning June 15, two lanes will be closed as needed either northbound or southbound between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., DOT said.

The agency asks that motorist drive carefully through the work zone and follow instructions from work crews.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story misstated the location of the lane closure.
