Authorities say traffic has returned to normal on a stretch of the northbound Thruway that was closed for several hours after two tractor-trailers crashed in the Hudson Valley.

State police say one of the trucks ran into the other around 10:30 a.m. Monday. One of the rigs to rolled over onto an embankment along Interstate 87 in the Orange County town of Cornwall, 60 miles north of New York City.

Troopers say one person suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. They're investigating the wreck.

Both lanes were initially closed between exits 17 and 16. One reopened just before noon, the other just before 3 p.m.
