A Long Island Rail Road train was delayed for around 90 minutes Sunday night while police looked for an unauthorized man near the tracks east of Southampton.

They found only a wallet, LIRR spokesman Aaron Donovan said. Authorities contacted the owner of the wallet at home, he said, but it was not clear if he had anything to do with the mystery man at the tracks.

The 8:15 p.m. incident forced authorities to stop the 7:33 p.m. Montauk-Jamaica train while they investigated.

Village of Southampton and Metropolitan Transit Authority police were on scene.
