Two arrested for damaging copper pipes
Two men, one homeless, were arrested Wednesday and charged with burglarizing a vacant house in Massapequa where they damaged copper plumbing pipes, Nassau police said.
Carl Greggs, 29, of 119 Smith St., Massapequa, and Christopher Terrell, 21, homeless from Amityville, were both charged with third degree burglary, and Terrell was charged with possession of burglary tools.
Responding to a 911 call of two suspicious men walking around a vacant house on Fair Court about 10:18 a.m., Seventh Precinct officers found a damaged rear window and heard the loud sound of copper plumbing being damaged.
Greggs and Terrell were found in the basement, ordered out of the house, and arrested, police said.
They were to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court, Hempstead.
