Two pedestrians in separate counties were struck about the same time Wednesday night, leading to road closures as detectives investigate, authorities said.

A pedestrian was hit by a car at 6:26 p.m. in Baldwin, Nassau police said.

Grand Avenue was closed between Seaman and Lincoln Avenues for about three hours as detectives gathered evidence, police said.

The pedestrian was conscious and has been taken to a nearby hospital, police said.

No other details were immediately available, a police spokeswoman said.

Also at 6:26 p.m., a pedestrian was hit by am SUV driver on Straight Path near 12th Street in West Babylon, Suffolk police said. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with serious injuries, police said.

Straight Path has been shut in both directions as police investigate.

No other details were immediately available, a police spokesman said.
