BACKGROUND: Long, 66, of Dix Hills is running in the Conservative, Independence and Working Families Party primaries. Long has been in private legal practice for 33 years, and worked in the Bronx County District Attorney's office from 1977 to 1981. He received his bachelor's degree from LIU's C.W. Post campus in 1973, and his law degree from the St John's University School of Law in 1977. Long was admitted to the New York State bar in 1978. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
