Wanted: Armed robbery; theft of purses
Nassau County police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for a man wanted for allegedly robbing a Levittown store.
Police say that at 12:39 p.m. on Sept. 16, a male suspect walked into Gold Buyers at 3259B Hempstead Tpke., pretending to be a customer. He then produced a handgun and announced a robbery. The man took money from the employee and fled, crossing Hempstead Turnpike. He is described as being between 30-40 years old, 5-foot-8, with dark curly hair and wearing a dark jacket, dark nylon sweatpants and a baseball cap.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at its toll-free and confidential hotline: 800-244-TIPS (8477), Crime Stoppers Unit Case No. 241-12. Crime Stoppers offers up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Suffolk County police and its Crime Stoppers department, along with the Village of Southampton Police Department, are looking for a woman wanted for allegedly stealing two purses from a Southampton store.
Police say that at 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 25, a female suspect entered The Perfect Purse, located at 20 Hampton Rd., and removed a black, 10-inch Chanel double-flap leather purse, valued at $3,600, and a gold colored, imitation leather Hermes Birkin purse, valued at $700. The woman then fled the store.
To report this or any other Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
