Long Island will have "perfect" trick-or-treating weather for Halloween, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Jay Engle.

Saturday will be sunny with a high temperature in the upper 50s. Temperatures are expected to drop into the low 40s Saturday night with clear conditions and "a little bit of northwest breeze, but nothing crazy," Engle said.

"It’s just perfect trick-or-treating weather," Engle told Newsday on Saturday morning. "No storms — just crisp, cool and clear."

The meteorologist added that Saturday night's temperatures will be roughly in line with the averages for Halloween on Long Island.

"You do get some warm Halloweens and some cold ones, but [this year] is going to be pretty close to normal," he said.

Sunday’s forecast calls for temperatures around 60 with dry and partly sunny conditions. Sunday night will remain mostly clear with temperatures dipping into the mid- to upper-40s.

Monday is expected to be mostly sunny with temperatures increasing into the low- to mid-60s.

There is "no chance of rain until late in the week, probably either Thursday or Thursday night," Engle said.
