Woman killed in Northern State crash in Huntington

An unidentified female motorist who was involved in a car accident on the Northern State Parkway in Huntington Thursday night was struck and killed when she got out of her car to presumably to check for damage, according to New York State Police.

The fatal accident occurred at around 6:40 p.m. between exits 40 and 41 on the westbound side of the parkway, state police said.

The driver who struck the female motorist did stop, said State Police, which did not release the victim's name or the name of the driver who struck her.
