That's the number of learners, as of Friday evening, inquiring about Stanford University's online "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" course. Those who take the free, 20-lecture course, taught by leading artificial intelligence experts Sebastian Thrun and Peter Norvig, will get a "statement of accomplishment," but no college credit.
