3/4Based on retirements and term expirations, that's the number of openings that will occur on the seven-judge Court of Appeals, New York State's highest court, during the term of the next governor. One judge will reach the mandatory retirement age of 70 in 2012 and another's term expires during 2014. If the governor chooses not to reappoint the second judge, he would name a new one.
