Hackers based in Estonia established "Rove Digital" to take control of 570,000 computers worldwide by using a fake advertising scheme. The FBI foiled the plot in November, but digital security firms say the Alureon malware lingers in some machines. Online connections will be blocked in infected computers starting July 9. While this specific alarm may be exaggerated, scamming by rogue viruses is always a threat.
