That's the FM frequency of WPPB, the newly renamed public radio station in Southampton. The call letters went into effect Thursday, culminating the purchase of WLIU-FM from Long Island University by Peconic Public Broadcasting, a new locally owned nonprofit. WPPB, which had been WLIU, will continue its familiar mix of original and national programming. The East End community came together to raise $850,000 to keep its own voice. That's a message worth listening to.
