The 10th District includes northwestern Nassau from Kings Point south to Lake Success, Great Neck and parts of Roslyn, Manhasset and Searingtown.

Nassau’s 10th Legislative District deserves thoughtful, determined leadership.

Incumbent Mazi Melesa Pilip, who lives in Great Neck and became a registered Republican last year, did not meet with the editorial board. Pilip, 46, campaigns on legislature-wide accomplishments like freezing the property tax rolls.

Manhasset Democrat Paul W. Jordonne, an attorney, advocates adding housing at underutilized or vacant big box retail locations. Jordonne, 33, lacks the skill set and ideas necessary to tackle the county’s most significant issues.
