According to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s Moreland Commission, the Long Island Power Authority paid “astronomical” rates and exorbitant travel costs totaling more than $28 million to an outside consulting firm between 2008 and 2011.

Once again the LIPA acronym also stands for “Long Islanders Pay Again!”
