Letter: A gift to those who serve alcohol

“ ‘Brunch bills’ might soon put alcohol on early menu” [News, June 3] confirms what I read about: People need groups to approve that what they are doing is OK.
Legislation is being considered so consumers can go to sports bars at 8 a.m. and be served an alcoholic beverage. Is that great or what? What is going on here?
I cannot believe after all the talk of curbing the effects of alcohol abuse and drug-related problems, we are now giving another gift to those who serve alcohol.
We can enjoy a sports game without alcohol, right?
