Letter: ‘Affordable’ units still very expensive

When and where did officials involved in Copiague Commons decide that rentals costing $1,193 to $1,850 a month are affordable [“Site cleared for affordable housing,” News, April 9]?
While I agree that there is a strong need in Suffolk County for income-restricted housing, this by no means will benefit those in need.
