Terrorists with designs on attacking us in our homeland have good reason to thank the National Rifle Association ["Unmasking the peddlers of hate," Opinion, May 8]. Our country is awash with guns, ammunition and other ordnance.

The bad guys don't have to run the risks of smuggling this stuff into the country. All they need is the money and a "patriotic" gun dealer -- all compliments of an organization that fights even the most commonsense attempts to control the gun trade, aided by craven politicians of both parties.
