Letter: Brookhaven reducing carbon emissions

Despite the headline “Romaine addresses environment” [News, March 16], Newsday’s article ignored the considerable time Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine devoted to the town’s reduction in carbon emissions. Romaine should be celebrated for addressing global warming.
It’s time for money-smart Republicans to follow Romaine’s example by calling for national carbon pricing, ensuring economic benefits with a dividend paid back to citizens. I hope our Long Island congressional delegation is paying attention.
