I'm a retired SUNY police officer who worked no voluntary overtime to increase my pension benefits.
To help eliminate future six-figure public pensions, simply pass a law restricting all pension calculations to base pay only ["$100G pensions on the rise," News, Feb. 3]. This would prevent individuals from adding overtime or other work entitlements to their pension calculation.
Federal employers have already done this, so why not state, county and city civil service?
