Tim Tebow is not the only sports figure to give thanks to God ["Offended by prayer on public display," Letters, April 3]. I hear it quite often.

I find it odd that one would find such a great role model for young people so offensive. Maybe if he cursed, partied nonstop and made a mess of his life, he would be more likable. Just because a man gives thanks for his successes does not mean he is forcing his beliefs on you.

I would prefer to watch him kneel down to our God (or anyone's God) any day of the week, rather than watch another egotistic athlete spike the ball or do a chest bump.
