Letter: Climate change is a lesser concern

To have this climate change meeting in Paris now, with all of the violence and terrorism going on in the world, is bewildering to me [“Climate pact needs action,” News, Dec. 16].
To be talking about events that may or may not happen is a sham. How can foreign leaders believe, in all seriousness, that what they do now will affect the future of the world?
What if a nuclear bomb gets detonated somewhere over the United States? The world must get its priorities in order!
