Former Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos is a felon who worked hard for Long Island for more than 30 years [“Judge weighs Skelos fine cap,” News, April 16]. The courts need to find a fair balance in his sentencing.

What he did was wrong, and he will live with that disgrace forever. This is the worst sentence for a good person.

The people who supplied the favors and money that led to this crime are also guilty, but they will go free. They could have said no, but they paid to play.
