Letter: Create jobs cleaning up trash
My idea to transform Long Island may be small, but I believe that the outcome would be great ["Transform Long Island," Editorial, April 12].
The $550 million in state economic development funds should be spent on collecting a large group of unemployed men, women and teens to clean up Long Island. Creating this job for those who are unemployed would help the economy and the environment.
If more people cleaned up, the citizens of Long Island would live in a cleaner environment with less pollution.
