Just when you think that Congress can't get any more callous, something new comes along ["The Republicans' principled suicide," Opinion, July 14]. Conservatives in the House of Representatives voted to eliminate the food stamp program from the farm bill!
I wonder what's next? Perhaps cancellation of school lunch.
