Making this election about the vice president is all the Democrats can do to win ["Eyes on presidential politics," Letters, Aug. 22].

Mitt Romney is the only person running who can right the ship, which is on the path to financial ruin. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) chairs the House Budget Committee, and the current administration has failed to pass a budget in more than three years.

President Barack Obama's failed economic record will be front and center, instead of all the social issue distractions. Romney has a plan for the next four years. What would Obama do with another term? All he does is campaign.

The choice is clear. Do you like America and its opportunity, or do you want another four years and an America you will no longer recognize?
