I’m glad there is controversy over plans for a Shoreham solar array [“Greens vs. Greens,” News, April 10]. It proves that we are ready to talk about solutions in the face of Long Island’s contribution to global climate change.

Although there is friction, seriously discussing solar energy development is one positive step to cease burning fossil fuels for energy.

Another solution we should discuss is the carbon fee-and-dividend proposal, which places a price on carbon, causing demand to move away from carbon-heavy fuels.
